Adult Supervision

When volunteers are requested during the parents' evening, three fathers raise their hands: of course they want to accompany their daughters as chaperones to a summer camp on an island in the isolated Klippvik archipelago! Once they arrive, tensions quickly rise.

Adult Supervision, the debut from Alex Schulman (known as the screenwriter of Triangle of Sadness and the novel The Survivors), shows a horrific psychological power struggle between children and their fathers. On the seemingly idyllic island, various forms of bullying and abuse come to light, and repressed memories are unearthed. Swedish stars like Gustaf Skarsgård (Vikings, and the son and brother of) and Fares Fares (The Wheel of Time) play the lead roles; cinematography is by Jakob Ihre, who won an Emmy for Chernobyl. A pitch-black comedy that holds a nasty mirror up to all parents and is guaranteed to leave you traumatised.
